Hi,

I need to add an accessibility statement to our SonarQube Community Build instance as required by French law: [Déclaration d’accessibilité - RGAA](https://accessibilite.numerique.gouv.fr/obligations/declaration-accessibilite/)

As I understand, it’s not possible to customize the footer or the header to add a link. So the only possible solution would be to add a custom page via a plugin. The problem is that the link to this page must be on the homepage, and if I’m right, custom links via plugins would be placed in the More menu.

Do you have any plans to add this kind of statement in the UI by default? It could point to: [Accessibility WCAG | Sonar](https://www.sonarsource.com/accessibility/)

If not, could you suggest a simpler solution?

Thank you,
Massimiliano

Hi Massimiliano,

Since you are posting this just a few days after the European Accessibility Act (EAA) has come into force, I can’t help wondering whether you work for a public authority or a private company.
If you work a public authority, you obviously need an accessibility statement (though one that defines the level of conformance to RGAA rather than WCAG) in order to comply with the French law that transposed the Web Accessibility Directive (WAD) from 2016.
If you work for a private company, I am not aware of any requirements for accessibility statements in the EAA.

Best regards,

Christophe

Hi Christophe,

Thank you for your answer!

I work for a public authority. After some research I can confirm that you are right, a WCAG link would not be enough and we need an RGAA statement.

So developing a plugin with a custom page would be the only possible solution, or do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Massimiliano

Hi,

I am trying to understand what this new law requires. Does it require that all the tooling the organization is using complies with RGAA and the link to the statement is available on the main page?

To display a custom link, I don’t think for now there is another way but the custom plugin and link under “More“ menu. Starting from Enterprise edition you can use define a custom banner to display on the top.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer.

My understanding of the law is that all the services proposed by the organization :

- must show the level of conformance in the homepage

- must have a link to the accessibility statement in all the service pages

Probably the best solution would be to be able to customize the footer adding a link pointing to the accessibility statement page and which text would be the level of conformance.

Massimiliano
