# AD Authentication fails issue with sonarqube 2025.1 LTS commercial

Hi Team,

We recently upgraded SonarQube Commercial Edition from version 9.9 LTS to 2025.1 LTS. Following the upgrade, users are no longer able to log in to our SonarQube portal using Azure AD authentication but it working local authentication.

It appears the new version may include a breaking change affecting Azure AD integration. Could you please assist with this issue? Alternatively, is there a recommended approach to re-enable or reconfigure AD authentication, or an alternative method we can implement AD authentication in our environment?

Also Could you please advise if there is a recommended SonarQube version where Azure AD authentication is known to work reliably?

- If you’re integrating with Azure AD (Entra) via SAML, make sure you’ve read the [Upgrade Notes](https://docs.sonarsource.com/sonarqube-server/2025.1/server-upgrade-and-maintenance/release-notes-and-notices/release-upgrade-notes/#release-2025.1-upgrade-notes), specifically **SAML configuration update required**
